Laurel, MD [August 2, 2024] Mayor Keith R. Sydnor continues in his efforts to expand academic opportunities for our younger citizens. Recently, the Mayor visited the National Cryptologic Museum in Ft. Meade, MD. There he learned about the museum’s programs for grades 4th -12th. Mayor Sydnor also discussed engagement with the Laurel community.
Mayor Sydnor and NCM stakeholders share a mutual interest in the objective of the Mayor’s and City of Laurel’s Safe Summer Nights Program. The initiative seeks to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for the youth of our community throughout the summer.
"I would like to thank the museum director and staff for taking the time to meet with me”, stated Mayor Sydnor. “I had a great time learning about cryptography and the National Cryptologic Museum’s dedication to STEM education. I look forward to working with them as I continue to expose the students of Laurel to various lanes of academia and enrich their future."
