(August 28, 2025) – On August 27, 2025, the City of Laurel Board of Election Supervisors officially certified Ms. Sheila Carroll as a qualified candidate for the Ward 1 Laurel City Council seat in the 2025 City of Laurel General Election.
The certified candidates are as follows:
Candidates for At-Large Council Seat
- Christine M. Johnson
- Brencis D. Smith
Candidates for City Council – Ward 1
- Sheila Carroll (certified on August 27, 2025)
- James Kole
- Adrian G. Simmons
Candidates for City Council – Ward 2
- Kyla M. Clark
- Jeffrey W. Mills
There are no additional candidates to be certified by the Board of Election Supervisors for the 2025 election cycle.
The City of Laurel General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, with polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Early voting will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at both polling locations.
Voters must cast their ballots at the polling place assigned to their ward:
- Ward 1: Joseph R. Robison Laurel Municipal Center, 8103 Sandy Spring Road, Laurel, MD 20707
- Ward 2: Robert J. DiPietro Community Center, 7901 Cypress Street, Laurel, MD 20707
