Portable Storage Containers (PODs)

Sec. 8-46 of the Municipal Code restricts the use and placement of portable storage units and requires a permit. In residential zones, one portable storage container per property is allowed for no more than sixty days per twelve-month period. Portable storage containers cannot be placed in a public right-of-way (i.e. the street or on-street parking space) and must be at least 6 feet from any property line. The maximum allowable size is: 8 feet in height, 8 feet in width, and 16 feet in length. The fee for a portable storage container permit is $25.
